Independence Day wedding at Montelucia

July 22nd, 2010 - Posted in Previous Blog | No Comments »

So the heat is finally here! After a very mild Spring, we finally had a wedding in the 100s. In fact the temperature was more like 110 on Sharon and Jorge’s 4th of July wedding at the beautiful Montelucia Resort in Scottsdale. That didn’t seem to spoil the mood for this super-happy couple and their families. Many had come from Belgium, Mexico and other parts of the world. Table Tops florists adorned the ceremony site with gorgeous florals and one of my favorites, Phil Waring officiated over the wedding nuptuials. Coco, the cutest four-legged ring bearer ever had everyone smiling. And what an end to the evening as all the guests walked outside into the front courtyard for an amazing fireworks show. Congratulations Sharon and Jorge!

Amy & Ric’s beautiful Sanctuary wedding

July 12th, 2010 - Posted in Previous Blog | No Comments »

Amy & Ric were married high above the city on a beautiful May evening at the Sanctuary Resort. The mountains looked gorgeous as the backdrop for this very special wedding. The ceremony area was decorated beautifully by one of my favorites – Suzanne at Floral Europa. So much color and style! Amy and Ric looked stunning amongst all the desert beauty. I thought Ric looked a little like George Clooney. He and Amy were so affectionate. One of the highlights of the ceremony was a surprise serenade by all the guests, singing the couples favorite song as they walked down the isle. The singing was led by one of my favorite classical guitarists, Rich Mancini. And the Sanctuary Resort recently opened a new wedding reception room called the Praying Monk and it has such magnificent views! It too looked stunning. It was clear all the guests (most came from Chicago) had a wonderful time.

Mary & Drew’s wedding – Wrigley Mansion

July 4th, 2010 - Posted in Previous Blog | 1 Comment »

What a delightful couple Mary and Drew are. Mary was a bridesmaid at Kristina & Mike’s wedding last October at Troon North and she decided after seeing Kristina’s photos that One Fine Day was the photographer for her. We were honored and flattered. And, it was so great to see Kristina and Mike again! It was also great being at Wrigley Mansion again – hadn’t been there in over a year. Kirsten, their new wedding coordinator was a joy. And it is always a pleasure working with Jason and Kerry at Muscleman DJs.

Nicole and Rick – a beautiful Spring day at Montelucia

June 28th, 2010 - Posted in Previous Blog | No Comments »

One Fine Day Photography’s Doug Williams always performs magic when he’s got a camera in his hands. We’re so lucky to have him as part of our team. On a beautiful Spring day at Scottsdale’s beautiful Montelucia, he photographed a very special wedding. The wedding of Rick and Nicole. Nicole is so genuine and special. By profession, she saves and retrains horses without homes. Personally, I find her to be the type that can be “friends for life”… such a great couple. Rick and his guys looked so handsome tuxes with tails. The decorations – linens – candles -everything was so beautiful. Gorgeous flowers were provided by Diana at Table-Tops. And what a joy to have Ray the DJ present as well! Congratulations Rick and Nicole!

Mark & Mary, Hyatt Gainey Ranch Resort wedding

June 23rd, 2010 - Posted in Previous Blog | No Comments »

Mark and Mary are so special.    When I first met them, they were somewhat quiet and reserved.     But when they flew me to Los Angeles in the Spring for an engagement photo shoot and we had so much fun – they were a blast.    And their wedding on May 15th was equally as special.     We started at the home of Mary’s parents Hany and Mona – they were the sweetest. Then it was off to the church – St George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Paradise Valley. An Antiochian Orthodox wedding is so unique, colorful and filled with tradition.  After the ceremony we headed to the Hyatt Gainey Ranch Resort for an amazing reception that included lots of traditional dancing, performances and very touching speeches.  We hadn’t been to the Hyatt in about a year and we’d forgotten how beautiful the property was. The grand ballroom – set for a group of more than 300 – was absolutely spectacular. Congratulations Mark and Mary!!  You are the best!
