Jill & David get married at the Phoenix Zoo!

April 17th, 2012 - Posted in Previous Blog | No Comments »

What a creative place to hold your wedding!! Especially if you are a veterinarian like our amazing bride, Jill. As animal lovers, Jill and David wanted to offer their wedding guests an opportunity to tour the zoo and see some of the great animals featured at the park. In fact, some of the zoo’s staff even brought animals to the reception site so that the wedding guests could see some birds and amphibians up close! Wedding photographers Doug Williams and Anne McCarthy tried to get a little too close to get some “macro” photos of an amazing 10 foot snake! What a blast that day was! Congratulations Jill and David!!

It was another beautiful Spring day at Gilbert’s stunning Villa Siena. When wedding photographers Anne McCarthy and Gina Mangiamele arrived, Sarah was walking on clouds! She was so excited to be marrying her awesome groom, Rob. The vows were so heartfelt, and the photography session was so much fun. Sarah and Rob were so photogenic! As usual, it was so great working with Jimmy Davenport of Citron Sound. The party was hopping all night!! Congratulations Sarah and Rob!

Stephanie and Tyson’s beautiful Sanctuary wedding

March 26th, 2012 - Posted in Previous Blog | No Comments »

The Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain was a beautiful as ever on Stephanie and Tyson’s big day. The flowers were incredible, the weather perfect, and the bride and groom were as happy and gorgeous as could be. Wedding photographers Anne McCarthy and Doug Williams had plenty of time to get creative! Since the couple decided to see each other before the ceremony (something that I often recommend), we had lots of time to tour around the beautiful grounds getting amazing photos. Congratulations Stephanie and Tyson! And here are the great wedding professionals that helped pull it all off:

Flowers: Flowers by Jodi
Hair and Make Up: Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Spa
Dress: Pricilla of Boston
DJ: SKM Entertainment

My mission to Haiti

March 13th, 2012 - Posted in Previous Blog | 1 Comment »

This winter I had the privilege of going on a mission to Haiti with a wonderful relief organization called Food for the Poor. It was a trip that changed my life forever. What I saw was devastating. 90% poverty, families living in deplorable conditions, homeless children wandering the streets. A massive undertaking to rebuild Haiti has been underway since the January 2010 earthquake, but it seemed little progress has been made. Red Cross tents are everywhere. Unicef is there. And the relief organization I went with has a headquarters and feeding center that serves meals round the clock. It was happy to be able to get on the front lines and help where I could. We also helped build houses, distributed clothing, visited a school funded by Food for the Poor. The organization even provided us with a security detail, so we felt pretty safe. Most of these pictures were taken with my Iphone, as I didn’t bring my professional camera gear. I was so moved by the Haitian people, and what I experienced, I will be going back again in December on my second mission. It made me realize how truly blessed I am to have a roof over my head, clothes on my back and a comfortable bed to sleep in every night.
